We currently use ten synthetic (oil-based) ingredients. These ingredients are listed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as “Safer Choice Ingredients” per the Code of Federal Regulations. We use them because we are not aware of an effective substitute and omitting them reduces the efficacy and shelf life of our products. All our synthetic ingredients are used as sparingly as possible and targeted for replacement as more scientific advances are made and new options become available.
