We Support Our Young People in 4H and FFA
In early August, over 100 local Wallowa county young people brought the animals they raised to the annual auction at the fairgrounds in Enterprise. The bidding was fierce as local business people (including Wallowa Valley Cleaning Products)  competed to over-pay for the animals raised by the children.  The average price paid was over $1,900.  A single turkey was auctioned off for over $500.  One turkey! Three chickens went for over $200.  The auction raised over $ 200,000 to help these these young people pay for agricultural college. A retired local judge commented that in all his “years on the bench,”  he knew of no adult to come before him in a criminal matter who had been active in 4H or FFA.  The young people in Wallowa county are wonderful and local businesses support them!
